The Real Cost

Fuel theft isn't just a fuel cost. It's four costs you're probably not tracking.

Most fleet managers see the missing litres. Few account for what happens next.

$45k–$180k per year

The fuel itself

A 50-truck fleet losing just 1–4% of consumption. Straight off your operating margin. No insurance, no claim. Every year.

Every stolen tank breaks your run

The schedule impact

Off-route stops. Retail pump prices. Driver time lost. Biodiesel blend data corrupted. One event can affect three deliveries.

Up to $9,000 per incident

The breakdown

Syphon-to-empty means recovery, tow, penalties. A $150 tank of stolen diesel becomes a $9,000 event before you've replaced the fuel.

Missed windows cost more than penalties

The contract

Premium customers track on-time performance. A pattern of failures leads to rate cuts, volume reductions, and lost renewals.

Extreme Cases

When a refrigerated unit runs dry, the fuel isn't the loss. The cargo is.

Refrigerated Transport

Up to €200,000 in a single incident

  • Temperature control fails overnight
  • Perishable or pharmaceutical cargo destroyed
  • Customer claim for full cargo value
  • Cold chain compliance breach
  • Contract termination — often irreversible
"The fuel was worth €150. The incident cost €200,000."

The Breakdown Cascade

One empty tank. Five problems.

  • Vehicle won't start or fails on-route
  • Recovery + tow: $1,800–$5,000
  • Missed delivery window: $500–$5,000 penalty
  • Downstream delays across the day's schedule
  • Fleet availability metric in the red

One stolen tank can disrupt an entire day's operations.

Anti-syphon makes both of these incidents physically impossible.

Not less likely. Impossible.

Product Quality

The market is full of anti-syphon products. Most can be defeated with a screwdriver.

Fitment matters. An ill-fitting device gives false confidence and fails under pressure. Here's what separates an engineered solution from a shelf product.

Generic (shelf) Fuel Anti-Syphon
Fitment Universal (often ill-fitting) Engineered per OEM application
Tamper resistance Defeated with basic tools Tested against forced entry
Installation DIY, inconsistent Workshop-fit, precision tolerance
Serviceability Replace entire unit Field-serviceable components
Coverage Car-focused Heavy commercial, 200+ applications
Warranty Consumer-grade Commercial fleet warranty

The Strategic Case

Better fleet reliability opens better contracts.

Premium logistics customers — supermarkets, pharma distributors, just-in-time retail — award contracts to the most dependable operators.

Clean delivery metrics

Eliminate theft-driven breakdowns and unplanned stops that drag your on-time performance below tender threshold.

Cold chain confidence

Demonstrate temperature continuity across your reefer fleet. Cargo protection is what wins high-margin refrigerated runs.

A case your GM approves

At 1% fuel loss on 50 trucks, anti-syphon pays for itself in weeks — before counting breakdowns, penalties, or contract upside.

"Anti-syphon isn't a cost. It's the investment that makes your fleet eligible for the contracts worth winning."

Straight Answers

We know what you've already tried.

"I've tried locking caps — they just get defeated."

→ Engineered mechanical barrier. Not a cap. Not a lock. No tube access — physically impossible to syphon.

"Does it fit my specific vehicles?"

→ That's the first question we answer. 200+ OEM applications, searchable by make, model, and year. If it's not listed, contact us.

"What happens if it needs servicing?"

→ Field-serviceable. No special tools. Your workshop team handles it. No throwaway units.

"How do I justify the cost to my GM?"

→ At 1% fuel loss on a 50-truck fleet: $45k–$180k recovered annually. That's the conversation. Simple payback, weeks not months.

"Won't a determined thief just find another way?"

→ They move to an easier target. Professional thieves look for the path of least resistance. Remove it, and your fleet isn't worth their time.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I know which product fits my vehicle?

Use the fitment search at app.fuelantisyphon.com. Search by make, model, and year. You'll get the exact product specification for your application in under 60 seconds. If your vehicle isn't listed, contact us — new applications are added regularly.

Can it be fitted by our own workshop?

Yes. Anti-syphon devices are designed for workshop installation with standard tools. Full fitting instructions are supplied. Most applications take under 15 minutes.

Will it affect normal fuelling operations?

No. Standard fuel nozzles pass through the device normally. Drivers fuel as usual. The barrier only prevents the insertion of a syphon tube.

What about vehicles with non-standard fittings?

We cover 200+ OEM applications including metric, BSP, NPT, and fuel cap thread types. Contact us with your vehicle details for non-catalogue applications.

What warranty is provided?

Commercial fleet warranty. Contact us for specifics applicable to your fleet size and application. We stand behind the product — if it fails, we make it right.
